Katsina SSG Attends 2025 Second Quarter Forum of Secretaries to Government in Jos

The Secretary to the Government of Katsina State, Abdullahi Garba Faskari, has attended the 2025 Second Quarter Meeting of the Forum of Secretary to the Government of the Federation with State Secretaries to the Government, held in Jos, Plateau State.

Declaring the meeting open, the Governor of Plateau State, Mr. Caleb Mutfwang, described the Secretaries as the “engine rooms” of governance and urged them to strengthen coordination of government activities for greater impact on citizens.

In his remarks, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation and Chairman of the Forum, Senator George Akume, emphasized the role of SGSs in policy coordination, programme implementation, monitoring and evaluation, noting that quarterly meetings are vital for harmonizing ideas and addressing current administrative challenges.

The keynote address was delivered by Professor Sam Egwu of the University of Jos, who spoke on “Understanding the Dynamics in the Roles and Functions of Secretaries to the Governments of States.” The technical sessions also featured papers on combating terrorism, kidnapping, and banditry.

The meeting, held at Crispan Hotel and Suites, Jos, provided a platform for knowledge sharing and reaffirmed the importance of Secretaries to the Government in driving effective governance at federal and state levels.
